Royal Humane Society of Australasia Bronze Medal, (1886), with ribbon brooch bar, reverse inscribed, 'John Tucker Edmonds 10th November 1886'. Clasp attaching suspender to medal loose, otherwise toned nearly extremely fine.

At the meeting of the general court of directors of the Royal Humane Society of Australasia held on 7th and 14th inst. (September 1887) Bronze Medals were awarded to George W.Hingston, aged 21, and John T.Edwards (note news report of the award has name spelt as Edwards whereas medal is named to Edmonds), aged 25 years, for helping to save five persons from drowning off the mouth of the Waitangi River, Bay of Islands, New Zealand, on the 10th November 1886.
