MM: L.G. 18 February 1943: 'In recognition of gallant and distinguished service in the Middle East. This man is a Special Wireless Operator. He has been working night and day with the exception of two short periods for nearly three years. He served in Greece and for 14 months in the Western Desert. He has shown great cheerfulness and has given his best in a very specialised and particularly exacting type of work. Great concentration is demanded of The Special Operator at all times, but particularly in times of danger and discomfort; and he has shown by the results that nothing can deter him. Signalman Ferguson's work has often been carried out under fire.' Together with: Official copy of citation and copy of relevant London Gazette entry.
