Thrace, Byzantium, (c.387/6-340 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (13.30 g), obv. **PU* above cow standing left, with right foreleg raised, standing on dolphin to left, rev. large quadripartite incuse square with granulated surface, (S.1580, SNG BM Black Sea 2-7, SNG Cop.-, cf.Dewing 1278, cf.BMC.3). Nearly very fine with steel blue patination, rare.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from A.H. Baldwin & Sons, London, with and early provenance ticket from Seaby at 35/-.
