Italy, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (c.302-280 B.C.), silver nomos or didrachm, (7.81 g), Arethon, Sa-, and Cas-, magistrates, obv. youth on horseback to right, placing wreath on horse's head; **SA* to left, **ARE/QWN* in two lines below, rev. [**TARAS*] upper right, Phalanthos astride dolphin left, holding tripod, CA**S* below, (cf.S.363, cf.Vlasto 666, SNG ANS 1046, HN Italy 957). Toned, very fine, scarce.
