Group of Four: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19; Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (GVR swivelling suspender). 344615 F.Turner. Act. C.E.A., R.N. on first medal, 344615 F.Turner. C.E.A.1 R.N. on second and third medals, 344615 Frederick Turner, C.E.A. 2 Cl. H.M.A.S.Sydney. on last medal. All medals impressed. Very fine.

Together with HMAS Sydney - SMS Emden, Nov 9 1914, Mexican eight reales with a few chopmarks, 1885RR Guanajuato Mint, medal by W.Kerr, Sydney (C.1914/4); H.M.A.S. Sydney badge/brooch in gilt and enamel (pin missing from reverse), features ship's wheel in gilt with enamelled ship's crest in centre; Returned Soldiers & Sailors Imperial League badge (KC) two-figure type, reverse numbered 55544; WWI period b&w postcard featuring H.M.A.S. Sydney (unused but tape marks on reverse at each corner.

Frederick Turner, born 25May1880 at Derby, Derbyshire, England; joined RAN at Sydney 01Mar1913 for 3 years on loan from RN and subsequently rejoined at end of his terms of engagement on 14Aug1917, 12Jan1919, 12Jan1924, 12Jan1925 and 12Jan1926; Disch.07Jun1928 at London. He served on various RAN ships and shore establishments including on HMAS Sydney as Chief Electrician 27Jun1913 - 30Sep1920, seeing service in the German New Guinea Campaign and in WWI including the Sydney-Emden engagement.
