N.Z.M.R. 9th Cont: on first medal, 327 Pte. E.J.Quidley 4/L.H.Rgt. A.I.F. on second and third medals, 327 Pte. E.J.Quidley 4 L.H.R. A.I.F. on last medal. All medals impressed. A few minor contact marks, otherwise extremely fine.
Ernest Joseph Quidley, gardener, age 34, born at Auckland, NZ; Enl.24Aug1914 at Broadmeadows, Vic in 4LHR, with previous service in Boer War with NZMR; Emb.19Oct1914 with 4LHR; Tfr to Mobile Veterinary Section 08Mar1915; Emb.23Apr1915 for Dardanelles; series of hospital admissions for debility of various types 12Mar, 22Mar, 02Sep1916 and 26Apr1917; RTA 21May1917 for 6 months change; Disch.05Feb1918 Medically Unfit; Died suddenly of heart failure 10May1940 shortly after admission to Brisbane Hospital, Qld.
