Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), AE sestertius, issued 213, Rome mint, (21.06 g), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, rev. Caracalla in quadriga right, crowned by Victory, around PM TR P XVI IMP II, COS IIII PP in exergue, SC across field, (S.6928, RIC 499a, C.233). Attractive red-brown toning, very fine and very rare.

This sestertius is very rare, with only two specimens cited by Banti.
