Howard Douglas Iffla, merchant seaman (mariner's certificate issued in Hong Kong 1904), born 26Jun1884 at Melbourne, Vic; son, Douglas Moir Iffla born in Hong Kong 21Aug1923, also served in RANR (S); commissioned into RANR (Seagoing) as Probationary Temp Eng Lieut 20Aug1941; HMAS Rushcutter to 10Sep1941, Birchgrove Park to 03Dec1942, Townsville to 08Oct1943, Assault 30Oct1943, Ping Wo 30Nov1943; Appt terminated 11Oct1944; retired from Merchant Service in 1958; Died 14Mar1969.
