Crimea Medal 1854-56, - clasp - Sebastopol. H.Johnson. Seaman. H.M.S. Agamemnon. Engraved. Contact marks, otherwise very fine.
Henry Johnson, born at Devon, Devonport in 1828 and entered the Royal Navy at age 24. HMS Agamemnon was a 91-gun battleship. She served in the Crimean War as flagship of Rear-Admiral Sir Edmund Lyons and participated in the bombardment of Sevastopol on 17 October 1854 and the shelling of Fort Kinburn at the mouth of the Dnieper River in 1855.
Together with copy of HMS Agamemnon's Crimea Medal roll listing H. Johnson as Able Seaman and his medal was delivered on board on 27Jan1862.
