Valens, (A.D. 364-378), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 366-7, 4th Officina, (4.28 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valens around DN VALENS PER F AVG, rev. Valens standing facing head to right, holding labarum and Victory on globe, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, ANT**D* (dot) in exergue, (S.19561, RIC 2d xiii, C.28, Depeyrot 27/3). Light surface marks, otherwise good very fine.
