Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), gold aureus, issued 232, Rome mint, (7.29 g), obv. laureate bust to right, draped, around IMP ALEXAN DER PIVS AVG, rev. P M TR P XI COS III P P, Sol standing facing head to left, holding globe and raising right hand, (S.7836, RIC 111, C.426, BMC 854). Extremely fine with mint bloom, a rare type and very rare in this condition.
