VIKING COINAGES, (c885-954), Kingdom of York, penny, Cnut, patriarchal cross, rev blundered EBORACI CIV (BMC.878) (S.991). Attractive golden brown and grey toned, nearly extremely fine.

Ex C.S.Shute Collection, private purchase from Lloyd Bennett in September 1986, and probably ex Cuerdale Hoard (see BM letter).
