World coins, countermarked issues, France, Louis XIV, billon fifteen deniers, 1693 Aix Mint, privy mark sun, countermarked with fleur de lis in dotted circle (cf KM.285.2); Malta, John Paul Lascaris, four tari (1636-43), countermarked five times, AV monogram (Adrian de Wigancourt (1690-7), crowned crescent (under Pinto, 1741-73), crowned diamond and lamb (de Rohan, 1775-97), eagle (Lascaris, 1646) (cfKM.67 for coin, KM.340); Spain, Philip IV, four maravedis revalued to VI (six) maravedis (coin KM.7.7); Saudi Arabia, Hejaz province, Al Hajez in Arabic, countermarked on a Turkey, 40 para coin, 1916 to 1923 (KM.5) The last corroded in countermark, very good or better.
