A.I.F. on first two medals, NX47456 A.N.Rowe on last four medals. All medals impressed. The third, fourth and sixth medals without ribbons, extremely fine - uncirculated.

Aubrey Nelson 'Jack' Rowe, bank clerk, age 19, born at Cootamundra, NSW; Enl.29Nov1916 at Lismore, NSW, with previous service in Senior Cadets; Emb.24Jan1917; TOS 54Bn 01Aug1917; WIA 18Nov1917 GSW right forearm, France; WIA (2nd occasion) 17Apr 1918 gassed, France; RTA 24Aug1918; Disch.13Oct1918; WWII: Enl.29Aug1940 at Newcastle, NSW; WIA in Malaya and on 25Jan1942 wrote to his mother to let her know of his recovery progress; 07Apr1943 on list of missing believed to be POW captured following the fall of Singapore; died of illness 14Nov1943 as POW; L/Cpl Aubrey Nelson Rowe, 2/30 Infy Bn remembered with honour at Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, Myanmar (formerly Burma) and also on Roll of Honour at Kempsey, NSW.
