Group of Five: Egypt Medal 1882 (undated reverse), - clasp - Suakin 1885; China War Medal 1900; British War Medal 1914-18; Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (GVR type 1); Khedive's Star 1884-6. 320. Pte E.T.Cane. N.S.W.Infy on first medal, E.T.Cane, P.O.1 Cl., N.S.Wales Nav. Contgt on second medal, T.E. (note transposition of initials) Cane Ldg. Smn. R.A.N.B. on third medal, A.B. E.T.Cane on fourth medal, last medal unnamed as issued. First medal engraved, other named medals impressed. Court mounted, contact marks and edge bump on fourth medal, otherwise fine - very fine.

Together with mat framed (30x36cm) under perspex, outline of record of service, with images above of N.S.W. Soudan Contingent 1885 badge, a poor quality photocopied image of Cane and a badge with Chinese characters, all in black and white.

Edward Thomas Cane, tinsmith, age 23, born in Sydney; Enl. in NSW Infantry Contingent and allocated number 320 as a Private in B Coy with 3 years previous service in a NSW Volunteer Infy Regt; served with NSW Naval Contingent to Boxer rebellion; served with RANB in WWI.
