British War Medal 1914-18. 2535 Pte. H.E.Courtney. 38-Bn. A.I.F. Impressed. Mounted in a frame with photo and memorial items, extremely fine.
Together with timber frame (approx 36x54cm) with perspex over timber mat framed photo in uniform, Memorial Scroll named to Pte. Horace Ernest Courtney 38 Bn. A.I.F., Memorial Plaque named to Horace Ernest Courtney, King's letter of thanks that accompanied the scroll, and as an unmatted item, the British War Medal 1914-18 which is his full entitlement.
Horace Ernest Courtney, storeman, age 41, born at Windsor, Ontario, Canada; Enl.28Sep1916 at Show Ground Camp, Sydney, NSW, while residing with his wife, Agnes A.Courtney, at 'Cambrai', 425 Bourke St, Darlinghurst, Sydney, NSW; Emb.09Nov1916; died of bronchitis resulting in cardiac failure at Military Hospital, Devonport, England 14Jan1917; buried at Efford Cemetery, Plymouth, England.
