Group of Four: Distinguished Conduct Medal (GVR), 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19 with MID. 2076 Pte D.Gresty 1/7 lanc:Fus.T.F. on first medal, 2076 Pte D.Gresty Lan.Fus on star, 2076 Sjt D.Gresty Lan.Fus on last two medals. All medals impressed and court mounted. Very fine.
Pte David Gresty, commenced active service in France 05Nov1914; later served as Sergeant and Company Sergeant Major with Machine Gun Corps; awarded DCM whilst with Lancashire Fusiliers
DCM: LG 26Jul1917 p7655 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He fought his machine gun with great gallantry under the most intense hostile fire'.
MID: LG 05Nov1915 p10997, Gallipoli.
