Aquilia Severa, second and fourth wife of Elagabalus, (220-222 A.D.), silver denarius, Rome Mint, (3.11 g), obv. Bust draped to right of Aquilia Severa, hair with vertical waves and fastened in plait at back, IVLIA AQVILIA SEVERA AVG around, rev. CONCORDIA around, Concordia standing to half left, sacrificing out of patera over lighted altar and holding double cornucopiae, in field to left a star, (cf.S.7679, RIC 225, BMC 185-187, RSC 2a). Very fine and very scarce.

Ex Dr V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3829) and also coming from an old Hungarian collection.
