Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 209, (3.25 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around PM TR P XVII COS III P P, Neptune standing to left, holding trident, foot on rock, (S.6346, RIC 228, RSC 529) (illustrated); another issued A.D. 207 (3.04 gm), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around RESTITVTOR VRBIS, Roma seated left, holding palladium and sceptre with shield at side, (S.6358, RIC 288, RSC 606, BMC 221, 359); Julia Domna, wife of Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-217), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued 214, (3.40 g), obverse, draped bust to right of Julia Domna, around IVLIA PIA FELIX AVG, reverse, Diana standing to half left holding long torch in both hands, around DIANA LVCIFERA, (S.7100, RIC 373A [Caracalla], RSC 32) (illustrated). Nearly very fine - extremely fine, first with dark patination, last with golden red highlights. (3)
