Pertinax, (A.D. 193), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 193, (2.36 g), obv. Pertinax head laureate to right, around IMP CAE[S P H]ELV PERTIN AVG, rev. around PROVID DEOR COS II, Providentia standing to left, holding up hand to star and other on breast, (S.6046, RSC 43, RIC 11a, BMC 13). Porous surface and tooled, with some surface marks, breaks in flan edge, otherwise fine and very rare.
