Marcus Aurelius, (A.D. 161-180), silver denarius, issued 170, Rome mint, (3.52 g), obv. M ANTONINVS AVG TR P XXIII, around laureate head to right, rev. SALVTI AVG COS III in exergue, Salus standing to left feeding snake entwined around altar, and holding sceptre, (cf.S.4927, RIC 207, BMC 494, RSC 543). Lightly toned, extremely fine and rare thus.

Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from M.R.Roberts retail sale in packet described, also from the Collection of Barry Allen Jones and Noble Numismatics Sale 104 (lot 4869).
