Antoninus Pius, (A.D. 138-161), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued 150-1, (3.05 g), obv. ANTONINVS AVG PIVS P P TR P XIIII, laureate head to right, rev. COS IIII, naked Genius or Bonus Eventus standing left with patera and corn-ears, (S.4069, RIC 196, RSC 220); also various sestertii of Antoninus Pius, (22.50g), rev. Victory standing right, (S.4182); others (23.29 g and 27.11 g), the last with rev. Securitas enthroned left, (S.4166). First coin very fine, others good - nearly fine. (4)
Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3805) and the D.J.Foster Collection, the last coin was purchased in Tripoli, on November 11, 1958 for 10 cigarettes (worth 2/-).
