L. Caecilius Metellus Diadematus, (128 B.C.), silver denarius, Rome mint, (3.89 g), obv. Roma helmeted head right, * behind, rev. ROMA in exergue, Pax in biga to right, elephant's head with bell attached below horses, (S.138, Cr.262/1, Syd.496). Toned, some earthen inclusions, very fine or better and rare.
