Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.31 g), Damascus mint, first reign, issued 119-118 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left AP monogram over **IDR* monogram, in exergue date **D*qP = 194 = 119-8 B.C., (cf.S.7143, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 2649, Newell LSM 94, ACNAC Houghton 851, BMC 4). Toned, nearly extremely fine and very scarce.
