Syria, Kingdom of, Demetrios I Soter, (162-150 B.C.), silver drachm (3.81 g), Ekbatana mint, struck c,152-150 B.C., obv. Diademed head right dotted border, diadems unevenly separated, rev. Apollo Delphios seated left on omphalos, **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOU SWTHROS* around, (cf.S.7017, A. Houghton, "The Chronology of the Later Coinage of Demetrius I at Ecbatana" in "Four Seleucid Notes," AJN 5-6 (1993-94), SC 1735.3, SNG Spaer 1377, HGC 9, 803a); Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy XII, Neos Dionysos, (80-51 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, Alexandria mint, struck year 21 = 61-60 B.C., (14.39 g), obv. head of Ptolemy to right, rev. eagle to left on thunderbolt with closed wings, to left LKA, to right **PA*, around **[BASILEWS] PTOLEMAIOU**, (cf.S.7946, Sv.1868, SNG Cop.391, Pitchfork -, BMC 41-42). First coin porous, second coin on small flan, weak in places and very crude, both about fine and scarce. (2)
