Peloponnesos, Achaia, Pellene, (c.330's-320's B.C.), silver triobol or hemidrachm, (2.59 g), obv. laureate head of Apollo to right, **L* below neck **[P]E* behind head, rev. **PEL* within laurel wreath, with straight leaves tied at bottom, (S.2966, BCD [LHS 96] 587 [same dies], BMC 3 = Traite 820 Pl.CCXXII, 24 [same dies], Weber 3977 [same dies]). Toned, weak in places good fine and rare, with tickets.
Ex Dr. V.J.A. Flynn Collection and previously from Noble Numismatics Sale 107 (lot 3480) and the BCD Collection, not in catalogues, but acquired from Sotheby's London, 12th May 1983 (lot 238 part).
