Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.19 g), Miletus mint, issued 300-295 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, **PA* in circle monogram to left, under throne double axe, **ALEXANDROU* to right, (cf.S.6730, Price 2148, BMC 2148a-c, M.1139). Extremely fine, lightly toned.
