Sicily, Syracuse, (c.445 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.84 g), obv. quadriga to right, Nike flying above crowning horses, rev. head of Artemis-Arethusa with hair waved all over, bound with ampyx and diadem, enclosed in net, around four dolphins, traces of **S U RA KO SI ON* around, (cf.S.931, Boeh. 727 [V.359/R495] 20 noted, SNG Munich 1945, SNG Ash 1991, Pozzi 590). Toned, weak on reverse, worn obverse, nearly very fine and rare.
