Valens, (A.D. 364-378), gold solidus, Antioch mint, issued 366, 7th Officina, (4.23 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valens around DN VALENS PER F AVG, rev. Valens standing facing head to right, holding labarum and Victory on globe, RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE around, ANTZ (dot) in exergue, (S.4088, RIC 2c viii, C.28, Depeyrot 19/1). Light graffiti in reverse field, some hoard discolouration, otherwise nearly very fine.
