Anglo Saxon, Aethelred II, (978-1016), silver penny, CRUX type, Thetford mint, issued c.991-997, obv.bare-headed bust to left, sceptre before, rev. short cross voided with CRVX in angles, BVRHTRIC M-O DEOD (Brihtric of Thetford), (S.1148, N.770, BMC iiia). Good very fine.
