Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy II, (283-246 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, issued 305-283 B.C., (14.05 g), Alexandria mint, issued 279-278 B.C. (Meydancikkale Hoard chronology), obv. diademed head of Ptolemy I to right, with aegis, rev. eagle to left with closed wings, standing on thunderbolt, in front monogram A/**PO* over monogram **DM*, around **BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOU*, (cf.S.7771, Sv.348, SNG Cop. -, Meydancikkale Hoard 3726). Banker's marks on obverse and reverse, otherwise fine and a rare symbols type on reverse.
