Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I (323-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.62 g), issued 310-305 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right with horn of Ammon, clad in elephant skin and aegis, dotted border, rev. **[A]LEXANDROU* on left, Athena Alkidemos to right with spear and shield, monograms XA on right to extreme right helmet, eagle lower right, (cf.S.7750, Sv.162, Zervos 28, SNG Cop. 29). With banker's marks on obverse on Alexander's cheek, and graffiti in field on reverse, otherwise good very fine and rare.
