Syria, Kingdom of, Antiochos VIII, (121-96 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.37 g), Ake Ptolemais mint, first reign, undated issue 117-115 B.C., obv. diademed head of Antiochos VIII to right, fillet border, rev. Zeus Uranius with crescent above standing to left, holding star and sceptre, on right **BASILEOS and **ANTIOCOU and to left **EPIFANOUS, to left MI monogram, (cf.S.7143, HGC 1197h, 2336.1, SNG Israel I (Spaer) 2590-1, Newell LSM 32, ACNAC Houghton 812). Nearly extremely fine, reverse pitting and very scarce.
