Thessaly, Thessalian League, (c.196-mid 1st century B.C.), silver double victoriatus, (5.96 g), Larissa mint, obv. head of Zeus to right, crowned with oak leaves, rev. Athena Itonia advancing to right, brandishing spear and holding shield, on sides **QESSA LW[N]*, above across **IPPOL [OCOS]* and in exergue **ATRESTIDH*, (cf.S.2232, McClean 4927 [p.239, Pl.179,7]). Bright, double struck on reverse, good very fine or better and rare.
