Free Waterman badge, Thames, City of London, c1820s, in a silver plated tin layer applied over pressed bronze plate (oval and arched 115x120mm), features City of London's arms over a plaque in which is engraved the licence number, '3614', below is the arms of the Free Watermen, the badge was worn as a brassard by being sewn to the sleeve of the waterman's coat. Extremely fine and rare.
