Tonga, Government of Tonga, Treasury Note, ten shillings, 19th May 1939, B/1 05823, type with 'TEN SHILLINGS' both sides of coat of arms with right side 'TEN SHILLINGS' overprinted with three black bars in error, type of (P.10) with overprint of (P.6). Several vertical folds and splits at margins, some staining, especially in top right corner, otherwise very good and extremely rare, only two known.
The only other known example sold in our Sale 110 (lot 2126) for $3,200 plus buyer's premium.
