Arab-Byzantine, Umayyad Caliphate, 'Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan', (A.H. 65-86 = A.D. 685-705), AE fals 18mm, (3.79 g), Halab (Aleppo) mint, struck c.690s, obv. Caliph standing facing, placing hand on hilt of sword, rev. Transformed cross, 'waf' to left, 'bi-halab' to right, (SICA 1, 611; Album 3529, Wilkes 138 [$150US]). Nearly very fine with an earthen green patina, rare.
