Thessaly, Larissa, (400-370 B.C.), silver drachm, (5.93 g), BCD dates early - mid 4th century, obv. Nymph Larissa three quarters facing to right, with ampyx and massed hair by cheek, dotted border, rev. horse with straight legs feeding to r. feet on exergue ground line, above **LARIS[I]*, plain in exergue, (cf.2124, BCD 213 (same reverse die, CNG Triton XV), cf.Herrmann ZfN (1925) (pl.VIII, 7 similar dies), C.Lorber & C.Shahar, 'The Silver Facing Head Coins of Larissa', online database Group 5, Type 24, HGC 4, 430). Toned, extremely fine and a very rare variety.
