Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.93 g), Termessos mint, issued c.221-200 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin with dotted border, rev. Zeus Aetophoros seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, forepart of a horse left above T in left field, to right **ALEXAND[ROU]*, (cf.S.6713, Price 2986. BMC 2986a-b, M.[932]). Bright, well centred reverse, weakly struck on the reverse, very fine or better and a very rare issue.
Ex Noble Numismatics Sale 109 (lot 3595) and from Tuck Pittman, Oklahoma USA Collection and sold at Noble Numismatics Sale 75 (lot 1753).
