Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 207, (3.61 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around P M TR P XV COS III P P, Africa standing to right, holding out fold, lion at feet, (S.6341, RIC 207, RSC 493); Gordian III, (A.D. 238-244), silver denarius, (2.69 g), issued 241, obv. IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, laureated bust draped and cuirassed to right, rev. LAETITIA AVG N, Laetitia standing left holding wreath and anchor, (S.8675, RIC 113, C.120). Very fine, first coin scarce. (2)
