Description
Burma, Pyu Coinage, Srikshetra, Period of the Funan monarchy and maybe later, (cAD 500), silver unit, (8.15g), obverse stylised sankh shell with a dot above all within a dotted border, reverse simplified temple with symbols (crosses and dots) either side, dots in temple and above wave below, (Robinson & Shaw -; cf.Mitchiner ACW 5210). Bright, good very fine, very rare.
Claimed to be found near Bago Myanmar (Burma), the reverse with Srivatsa with assorted Buddhist auspicious symbols.
