Religious State of England, 1688, cast bronze (57mm) by Jan Smeltzing, obv. a hand from heaven holds a scroll over a pedestal inscribed Britannia, with a dove, a chalice, wafer and rosary, around LIBERTAS CONSCIENTIAE HOC MONILI ORNATA. Reverse a dog wearing a rosary tramples on books, around RES IMMODERATA CUPIDO EST. MDCLXXXVIII. (MI.620/35). Very fine and rare.
