Pair: Queen's South Africa Medal 1899 (type 2 reverse), - four clasps - Cape Colony, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittebergen, also loose clasps for Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902; King's South Africa Medal 1902, - two clasps - South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902. 376 Pte. W. MC Allister. N.S.W. A.M.C. on the first medal, 1945 Pte. W. McCallister N.S.Wales A.M.C. (note different method of naming on medals for MC and Mc). Impressed. Very fine and scarce combination to NSW Army Medical Corps.

Note: Queen's South Africa Medal and first four clasps awarded for first tour and loose four clasps awarded for second tour but have never been attached to top of existing medal clasps.

William McAllister, labourer, born 05Nov1879 at Carlton, Vic; Enl.10Jan1900 at Sydney, NSW; Emb.17Jan1900 for South Africa with 2nd Contingent, AAMC; joined advance against Boers with Gatacre's Column to Bloemfontein including engagements at Diamond Hill, Johannesburg and Bethlehem; RTA 08Jan1901; 2nd tour, Emb.17Mar1901 from Sydney with Imperial Draft Contingent for the AAMC; involved in operations in Western and Eastern Transvaal with William's and Remington's Columns; RTA 03Jun1902.
