"Coo=ee!", The Journal of the Bishop's Knoll Hospital Bristol, Volume 1, Number 1, November 1916 to Volume 1, Number 12, October 1917, hard cover with large colour pictorial title-label mounted on the front, quarto (19x24.5cm), twelve journals bound in one volume and with a dedication leaf, 'This Volume is Dedicated to the first Thousand sick and wounded Australian Soldiers who were patients at Bishop's Knoll hospital', inside the fly page is a sticker for Bishop's Knoll War Hospital Weekly Games Tournament Prize Presented by, (written) 'Bristol Association of Aus Munition Workers' To 'Pte Bourke', inside back fly page in pencil 'W.M/(1759681)'. Foxing, particularly on fly pages, first few pages loose at top left half, otherwise very good and very scarce.
Robert Bush converted his stately home, Bishop's Knoll, into a hospital for wounded Australian soldiers, meeting all expenses. An interesting feature in most journals is the list of patients during the particular month, giving name, rank and service number.
