SYRIA, Seleucid kingdom of Tryphon, (142-138 B.C.), AE 17 (4.08 g), Antioch mint, obv. bust of Tryphon to right, with diademed, dotted border, rev. spiked Macedonian helmet ornamented with ibex-horn, **BASILEWS/TRUFWNOS* on left and **AUTOKRATO[ROS]* on right, (S.7089, SC 2034e, HGC 9, 1061, SMA p.73 for type and discussion); Thrace, Mesembria, (2nd century B.C.), AE 20, (5.40 g), obv. diademed female head to right, dotted border, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing left, brandishing a spear and holding a shield, METAM [BP]IAN**WN* either side, (S.1676, SNG BMC 280-283, BMC 8-10); another AE 24, (7.83 g), obv. diademed female head to right, plain border, rev. Athena Alkidemos advancing left, brandishing a spear and holding a shield, helmet to left, ME**S/T*SAM BPIAN**WN* either side, (S.1677, SNG BMC 284-287, BMC 11-12). Fine - very fine, first rare, others scarce. (3)
