Severus Alexander, (222-235 A.D.), AE Medallic Sestertius, 36mm, (21.74 g), struck 228 A.D., obv. IMP CAES M AVR SEV ALEXANDER AVG, laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, seen from behind of Severus Alexander, rev. around ROMAE AE-TERNAE, S C in exergue, Roma seated left on throne, shield at side, holding Victory in extended right hand and spear in left hand, (S.8016 [for normal sestertius], RIC IV 605 var. (laureate and draped), Pink III, p.16, Banti 153, BMC 478, C.523 var.]. Good very fine or better, red-brown surfaces with traces of red and black.
