Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 198 (3.44 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around L SEP SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX, rev. around MARTI V ICTORI, Mars standing to right resting on shield set on a captive and holding a spear in left hand, (cf.S.6312, RIC 509, RSC 321); Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 197, Rome mint, (3.44 g), obv. bare headed bust to right, [M AVR] ANTON CAES PON[TIF], rev. PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS, Caracalla in military attire standing left, holding baton and sceptre, trophy behind, (S.6677, RIC 13, RSC 505). Nearly very fine. (2)
