Claudius, (A.D. 41-54), AE quadrans, Rome mint, issued A.D. 42, (3.70 g), obv. three legged modius, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG, rev. S C in centre around PON M TR P IMP COS II, (cf.S.1865, RIC 88, BMC 179) (illustrated); Nero, (A.D. 41-54), AE dupondius, issued A.D. 67, (12.40 g), obv. laureate head to left, rev, Securitas in relaxed pose enthroned to right, head resting in right hand and holding sceptre in left hand, lighted altar and torch at feet, SC in exergue, (S.1968, RIC 597, BMC 347, C.325). Dark brown patina, good very fine for the first coin, second coin fair with a fine portrait. (2)
