Sasanian, kings of Persia, Peroz, (457/9-484), silver drachm (3.93 g), AY (Susa?) mint, obv. "The Mazda worshipper, the fortunate, Peroz" in Pahlavi (crude), crowned and cuirassed bust right, rev. "Peroz" in Pahlavi (crude) to left, mint signature to right, fire altar with attendants and ribbon, (Gobl I/1, Paruck -, Alram 876, MACW -, De Morgan -). Toned, good very fine and a rare early issue.

Ex Decades Collection and from Triton VII, January 13-14, 2004 (lot 644) and previously from Spink Numismatic Circular, December 1997 (lot 5487).
