Sasanian, kings of Persia, Yazdgard II, (438-457), silver drachm (4.04 g), Uncertain (NWKY?) mint, obv. "[...], the fortunate, Yazdgard" in Pahlavi (crude and partially degraded), crowned and cuirassed bust right, rev. "Yazdgar[d]" to left, "Adorer" to right in Pahlavi, fire altar with attendants, holding staves, and and ribbon, "ras[t]" in Pahlavi on central column, (G”bl I/1, Paruck 336 var. (legends), Alram 869, MACW 971, cf. De Morgan p.705, 169b). Lightly toned, extremely fine.
